About the Empire Club Foundation

The Empire Club Foundation was incorporated in January 1969 as a non-profit organization, the principle function being the publication and distribution of yearbooks, containing the texts of addresses to The Empire Club of Canada to the Club's members as well as to libraries across Canada.

The Foundation recently undertook to finance the digitization of the Club's addresses and have them posted on this website. Now all of the speeches going back to 1903 are available online. By logging in to this site, visitors can review more than 3,000 past speeches by Canadian Prime Ministers, Chief Executive Officers of leading companies in Canada and abroad and such international dignitaries as Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, Her Majesty The Queen Mother, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Ronald Reagan, His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Winston S. Churchill, Bill Gates, Audrey Hepburn, Dr. Billy Graham, Vladimir Putin and Grey Owl. Distinguished Canadians include Adrienne Clarkson, Hilary Weston, Roberta Bondar, Hal Jackman and Maureen Forrester. Canadian Prime Ministers who have addressed The Empire Club of Canada include Borden, King, Bennett, Meighen, St. Laurent, Diefenbaker, Pearson, Trudeau, Clark, Turner, Mulroney and Chretien.

These addresses are presented in their entirety, with a comprehensive, up to the minute index of speeches, accessible by speaker, title, keyword, topic and or date of publication. Every online speech index includes as synopsis and full biographical description.

This valuable resource has been made available by the Foundation to the general public to serve as a legacy of the views of the distinguished men and women to address the Empire Club since it's founding in 1903.
